Welcome to the Club

2009 was a most successful year at the Boscombe Cliff Bowls Club where a record eighth consecutive win in Division 1 of the Bournemouth and District B A Leagues was enhanced by beoming Hampshire Champions and winning the prestigious National Top Club Championship.  Our members also compete in Divisions 3 and 5 each Saturday as well as in Tuesday night Triples.

We consistently encourage visitors to try their hand at the game we all love and have been successful in convincing them to become members. They are then available for selection in some of the friendly matches against some of the touring teams visiting the Bournemouth area each summer from all parts of the UK.  Our members are also encouraged to try their skills in our club competitions, B & D BA and  Hampshire BA  Competitions.

The prestigious BOURNEMOUTH TOURNAMENT use our green in the first week of August each year thus enabling our members to watch well known international bowlers from far and wide showing their competitive skills.

Being one of the initial Lawn Bowls Clubs to be created in Bournemouth we celebrated the centenary of our green in 2004 with a visit by Ian Morrell, EBA Presidents and his very  distinguished team of international players / officials at our picturesque green pictured above. The setting is easily found at the corner of Woodlands Avenue, Boscombe and the Southbourne Overcliff Drive .

Our Pavilion was erected in 1927 has been updated by our members over the last 4 years and now incorporates a small homely bar, improved toilet facilities but we have very limited changing facilities.

The Pavilion incorporates a Public Café which is run by Paul and his staff who welcome all for breakfast, lunches, cream teas and snacks from 9.00 till 5.00.

Please do come along and pay us a visit soon, for its never too late to enjoy this sport. More info is available on our other website the website address is below
